Wood Inlay

Wooden surface is inlaid in an intricate design and veneered to another surface, especially of furniture, for the purpose of decoration. Repeatedly recycled and benefited from reworking, wood is very much used since pre-historic times. The inlaying of wood calls for a higher level of expertise and dexterity which make wooden article one of the much loved treasures to be withheld.

Wood Inlay is decorative technique of inserting pieces of wood to form patterns or pictures. Liked by everyone, inlaid wood is capable of rejuvenating one's inner self and providing them unmatched comfort as well. Hence, artisan uses different techniques of wood inlaying to make any wood article attractive and durable.

However, the design of wood article is also a chief determinant after considering which the process of wood inlay can be put into effect. It is sometimes difficult to inlay those wood articles which have inner curvaceous edges as compare to articles having plain surface. So, most of the wood workers prefer to inlay wood articles having straight plain surfaces. Additionally, the exquisiteness of wood inlay also depends upon the specific approach adopted by wood worker.
